Detailed description of Falling Creek Country Club

Falling Creek Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course. Falling Creek Country Club is located halfway between Raleigh and the Crystal Coast, just 2 miles off US Highway 70 in Kinston, North Carolina.

Falling Creek golf course first opened for play in 1967. The course was designed by Gene Hamm. The course features 419 Bermuda Fairways and Champion Bermuda Greens that were renovated in 2006. This renovation has resulted in smooth, fast greens that roll true.

Falling Creek is challenging, yet player friendly. The course has narrow fairways and long par 3’s nestled between huge oaks, tall pines and a well-maintained landscape. Whether you are a scratch golfer, a beginner, or the average duffer, you will have a great time at Falling Creek Country Club. Visitors are welcome! This is a semi-private course, open to the public.

Falling Creek is an 18-hole, par-71 course with yardage from the tips measuring 6,430 yards. They have 4 sets of tees to choose from with a rating of 70.5 and a slope from the men's tees of 119.

Falling Creek is family-owned and managed and is very reasonably priced. With Bermuda greens, it is tolerant of NC summer heat and drains well. It has a lay-out that is not crowded by houses or other commercial fixtures. The main downside is that there is no driving range, but the course is a good challenge.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

I have golfed in the eastern-central portion of North Carolina for just about a year now and I have never seen such a poorly managed course. How can any course let their members, especially a 5-some, between a tournament is beyond me. I guarentee that the AGT brought more money into this sham of a course than that 5-some did, even after they whined about they missed their tee time. The fairways and greens were pretty good, layout ok, but no drive range at all. All they have is a chipping/sand range, and practice putting green. Management needs to wake up and when you make a committment, give them respect and honor it. Until management changes, I will not golf here again and I would not recommend this course to anyone.
